Urged to write this morning, I must be brief as the day and its responsibilities call...
"Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven...
Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted..."
Comfort came yesterday in taking care of others.
"Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth...."
I saw a mom and member of our church preparing to serve young girls...
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled."
I saw Wade truly striving to find balance in his own life. It took courage because it meant possible disappointing people important to him.
"Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy...."
I listened to a mom and fellow teacher celebrate. The class she teaches will explore ways to engineer devices that will serve patients afflicted with cerebral palsy. Her son has cerebral palsy.
"Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God..."
A friend attended a fellowship and it added healing to her broken heart. Another teacher learned she had the capacity to love 140 children and one newborn.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God."
Thankful for a family of women and Sunday School teachers who taught me the word of God.
Thankful that Josie still calls on my to encourage their friends.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:3-10
The beatitudes....... Be the attitude.
I will fail more days than I will succeed at this.
However, four verses later we find the verse that always made me see my girl....
14-18) "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your slight shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
I still don't understand. I wish she was here. My bones still cry, but I am thankful this morning I am brought back to the words...
