Today/tonight Union High School hosted its annual Back-to-School Bash complete with over 800 high school students playing in the mud and water and throwing color powder everywhere. My son has a leadership role in this event as he serves on our Student Council; consequently, I worked as a booster club mom. For two hours Central Park at Union jumped and danced and filled itself full of life and the people that I love to serve - students and teachers. Being in that moment distracted me from pain and filled my heart with life again. And that is "one good thing."
My friend and colleague, Rebecka, writes about "one good thing" every day. I used to just wait until she posted and then relish in the joy of learning that she captured in each post. Then my life changed forever, and I needed to find one good thing in each day. I used to write every day, too, when I was young and even more idealistic than I am now. Rebecka has modeled for me a discipline I use to know and now need - and so I write - everyday - and that's a good thing.

We pray "The Lord fills your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouting" Job 8:21. A joyful heart is good medicine, Proverbs 17:22 My pray for Wade, Joey and you to be filled with laughter to heal the pain and ease the grief. Psalm 125:2 "As the mountains surround Jerusalem so The Lord surrounds you, Lisa".
