I turned the corner so many times today thinking I would find that moment, that joy - but like I said -sometimes we are just messes.
A great lunch with an old friend gave me enough of a reprieve to find productivity in the afternoon, but the real moment occurred when I listened to my son's day for a few simple minutes.
I asked how his day went as he walked from the shower to his room. He had little to comment upon except his bible study from tonight. Often he shows so little tolerance for things or people as he possesses such a firm sense of right and wrong. Tonight, though he exhibited such emotional intelligence about the needs of others that I could breathe.
My kitchen is still dirty from Monday, but our son grows.
