All that to say - there is always something good to write - sometimes I am just too tired to write good (well).
On Friday, two of my friends and colleagues reached deep into my heart and lifted it up. Our high school has created a small private group page where we spread joy and tag it, "Go Light the World." Our drama teacher encouraged us all to be intentional about sharing joy at the beginning of the year and so many people have practiced and received. Friday, Cathy and Rebecka took their turn. Having ordered 27 GO LIGHT THE WORLD t-shirts, they gave one to each member of the math department. Since a one to one spreading-of-joy is too linear and too slow according to Cathy, these two ladies decided to spark 27 individuals. They invited me to the gift giving. Rebecka had ornately wrapped each t-shirt in a gift bag and written each math teacher's name on the bag. Cathy spoke briefly about spreading light in the math department and especially to our kids. She also said Taylor Renee's name - my heart broke and sang at the same time - it's that great grief and great joy simultaneously again.
Three days late and three times as grateful, Cathy and Rebecka - thank you for being two of the brightest lights I know.
