I am thankful for colleagues who can work and then take a breathe and pause. Their eyes grow wet with weighty tears as they remember Taylor, too. The day calls us back to duty, but my heart has been strengthened and reminded that they remember.
I am thankful for Tracy and her sister, Kit - Tracy lost her daughter, Kasey, to a drunk driver last spring. Kit found the blog and then shared it with Tracy who courageously reached out to me. Her emails have created a new path for me. Though Kasey studied at OSU and Taylor at OU, they share mutual friends - graduates of the Class of 2012 from Union. I think the girls they share would all agree - there's a party every night in heaven - or at least a movie night.
I am thankful for Duchess; her text shared a celebration of sorts, of Madison sharing her light with others. Waldo's silly selfies interrupt meeting after meeting and often make me snort out loud. These girls that circle Taylor's heart will change the world one day. It is certain they will; Leave no doubt.
I can't honestly tell you that I have accepted that God's timing is always perfect, because I can't make that work with July 27th. I just can't say that yet. However, I can point confidently to countless God moments since then. It's those moments and the hearts that listen to his call, that allow me to square my shoulders, face the day, and look for the light.
