When Tay brought Josie to the house, she always referred to Josie as "Little". My boys called/call Josie - Badger - neither name could I abide for the intelligent, beautiful petite creature at my kitchen bar. Since Taylor Renee had been "Princess" since her toddler years and her insistence on wearing tiaras everywhere, Josie had to have a regal nickname as well; - thus, she became our Duchess.
Josie was in the wreck with Sister and suffered severe injuries- She's scarred emotionally and physically - forever, but this boy named Alex brought the light back to her smile.
Since, I only met Josie 9 months prior to the wreck, I can only compare her smile to the pictures Taylor and Josie's mama posted. For a long time, the girl in the pictures after the wreck was missing a kind of joy, a sort of light when she smiled. When Alex, Josie's finance, came into her life, that effervescence returned and with it the sunshine in Josie's smile. My Joey isn't a fan of boys who come to take his girls away from him, but my heart cannot help but hold Mr. Alex up - because he seems to bring her great happiness. Josie is always, always beautiful - but since Alex found a place in her heart; she is beautifully content.
Here's to the Davis' - may God bless you with the "reach for the stars, over-the-fence, World Series" kind of love. May your friendship grow deeper, your love fierce and gentle.
Taylor loves you, Little.
