Wade volunteers each day this week at Asbury for Vacation Bible School. One of his buddies' mom works at the church and she didn't let him get away with not volunteering to work. We mom's on a mission to plug our kids into all that is good. How thankful I am that Kim never fails to remind Wade of his ability and responsibility.
We are finishing a week of professional learning for our administrative teams. Tomorrow is our leadership retreat. The week, full of mental jousting and problem solving, challenges and rewards us. I am so thankful to work with individuals who are so committed to the common good of kids and public education. Often, with furrowed brows they would wrestle with the data placed in front of them and emerge with a strategy to improve culture and outcomes for students and adults, alike. They are terribly committed to a common mission and it is humbling.
I was invited to a new page on Facebook - "Go Be Great" - a page to honor another child gone too soon, another mother trying to keep all that is "great" about her boy alive.
Thankful to be aligned with so many mission minded hearts.
