It's about choice and self-regulation; it's about equity, access and opportunity; it's about partnerships and vision. it changes our students today, and it influences their tomorrows. Each student involved has earned industry certification that will travel with them to possible employment, to possible college credit and to a paid internship this semester.
We treated the event like "Signing Day" for athletics, and I loved it. One of our industry partners even used the lingo, "EPSCO is proud to choose [insert student name] as their 2016 pick!" The partners had t-shirts, jackets, jerseys and posters for our kids to sign. Mayor Dewey Bartlett joined in the celebration and light was shared.
Every child should be this wanted. Every child is this worthy.
