We fight through the pain to bring something beautiful into the world, we fight sleepless nights and projectile vomiting; we wrestle with pre-teen angst and against adolescent insolence; we struggle to let go when college calls and to stay close enough but not too close as the doors to adulthood beckon, Then we bite our tongues and swallow unsolicited advice when our reward, a grown, accomplished child, challenges the world on his/her own.
And when our something beautiful is stolen, we fight with a different kind of vengeance -
